Greetings!
Welcome to the mid-November edition of our newsletter,
“Extra Time” with all the
information you need on current and upcoming events at
The Soccer Center. By now,
hopefully everyone has been to The Soccer
Center and has enjoyed playing in the new set-up for both
our
7v7 and
Futsal leagues. We received very good press for
our “Opening Whistle” Ceremony on Wednesday, November 8 when
Board Members of the Far Post and Nordic Soccer Clubs were
joined by David Grimm from the CVE Board to officially open
The Soccer Center.
Channel 3 News,
The Burlington Free Press and
The Essex Reporter were all on hand to ensure a high profile
start to our indoor season. An article also ran in this
week's issue of
The Colchester
Sun.
We will be
doing our best to keep all of our leagues updated on a daily
basis with league scores and standings. Please check schedules
through the website at

and schedule for your team!

Thanksgiving
Weekend Turkey Shoot-Out
The first of our
winter series of tournaments is next Saturday, November 25th
when we hold our
Thanksgiving Weekend Turkey Shoot-out.
This will be a Futsal tournament for U12 Boys and Girls and U14
Boys and Girls.
Teams can
register online through the website. All teams are guaranteed 3x
25 minutes games and the cost is $150 per team.

U12 Boys ~ 9 a.m.
- 12 noon

U12 Girls ~ 12
noon - 3 p.m.

U14 Boys ~ 3 p.m.
- 6 p.m.
-
U14 Girls ~ 6 p.m.
- 9 p.m.
The next
tournament will be on Saturday, December 9th when we
host our Nor’easter
Blast 7v7 tournament for U10
Boys and Girls teams and High School Boys and Girls teams.

Pick-Up Soccer
We have added Pick-up Soccer
to our calendar of events for our U14, High School and Adult age
groups starting Monday, November 20th. Pick-up soccer
is open and available to every-one and is basically a pick-up,
pay as you play mentality! Just show up at the times listed and
join in! All it costs is $5 per week for one hour of play.

Partnering
with the Vermont Soccer Association
Referee
Course
In conjunction with the Vermont State Referee Association,
The Soccer Center will be hosting
an Indoor Referee course. This is a 2 hour course for both
types of Indoor games (Futsal and 7v7). The course will be
offered on two dates:
- Sunday,
November 26

Saturday, December 16
Interested referees should
register with the
Vermont Soccer Association,
Meg Munson, Executive Director, 859-9601.
USSF “E”
License Coaching Course
The Soccer Center will host a
United States Soccer Federation
(USSF) “E” License coaching course on
Saturday, December 2 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The course is being sponsored by the
Essex United Youth Soccer Club
and will be run by
Dave Saward, Middlebury
Men’s Head Soccer Coach and Vermont Soccer Association Director
of Coaching. Interested coaches should register through the
Vermont Soccer Association,
Meg Munson, Executive Director, 859-9601.
The
Soccer Center - Home of VT ODP
The Soccer Center is pleased to be the official home of the Vermont Youth
Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) during the winter
months. The ODP program will be using our facility twice a month
for the next 6 months as the top youth soccer players in the
state are put through their paces in preparation for their
outdoor spring season.
